9er wine

Nero Misto is Italian for “mixed black”. The Nero Misto blend from Elyse out of Napa is a smorgasborg of NINE dark red grape varieties….

With a combination of Mourvèdre, Zinfandel, Petite Verdot, Petite Sirah, Cab Sauv, Cab Franc, Malbec, Merlot, Carigon – this damn wine is the epitome of a kitchen sink blend…..

In the glass, it’s got a black center with lighter purple edges.

The nose is basement floor, sweet oak, and cassis.

My first drink mouth coating with plums and chocolate covered blackberries. Mid palate, there are black cherries with an unexpected blast of Dr Pepper….

The palatal journey is all good and well with this wine until it heads to the finish. The ending is more black fruit but unfortunately, alcohol heat rears its ugly head. It’s funny because I didn’t get the heat on the nose but this puppy finishes hot and rather unpleasant…..

If it weren’t for the hot finish, this would be a pretty decent wine. That said, the ending is hot, hot, hot and sends this wine’s entire personality into a tailspin.

Folks ——- This one is not a buy for this guy….
