This fun little Rioja is a blend of Tempranillo and Garnacha. In the glass – it has a dark plum center with burgundy edges….
A sniff of the wine reminds me of my High School days when I get a hint of Red Man chewing tobacco… Another smell brings out gorgeous notes rose petals and black cherries.
In the mouth, this guy takes me on a bit of a roller coaster ride ~~~~~~ The wine starts with bright bing cherries and strawberries…… The mid palate performs a sort of ‘bait and switch’ when summer flowers and potpourri spice comes alive. On the finish – I’m left with notes of raspberry black tea, pipe tobacco, and just a speck of tannin to keep my attention.
It’s summertime y’all and this thing screams summer-red! Grab yo-self a bottle and pair it with grilled pork chops….
…….On second thought, at under $20 bucks you might as well grab 3 bottles……. 🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑
