Like father, like son

Melville Winery is a father son operation located in the Sta. Rita Hills of Santa Barbara. Ron Melville and his son Chad, are dedicated to producing ridiculously good Pinots, Syrahs, and Chardonnays from estate fruit grown off of their 120 acres of vineyards.

In the glass, the 14′ Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir has a bricky center that opens up into a lovely garnet halo with clear edges…

When I stick my nose in the glass, it is a bouquet of roses… Another sniff brings out some dried floral spice and sweet leather – it’s gorgeous….

My first taste is a blast of black cherry that is quickly followed by zingy cranberry and bing cherry notes… While the beginning of this bad boy hits on the darker side and the middle brings out a zing —–> the ending seems to make an about face and show more notes of black fruit with a piney Christmas tree thing that lingers for a whiiiiiiiiile…

Sooooooooooo….. this lil’ Pinot is like $35 bucks……..

Ladies and gentlemen, THIS WINE IS A STEAL! I have no freaking clue how these guys are able to keep this stuff at this price point but get your asses in gear and GO GET SOME while you still can!!!!!!!
