When I give the wine a sniff I get a bacony note with raspberry jam and clove… Another smell brings out warm baked fruit —–> dare I say fruit pie!?!?
My first taste starts with a meaty and rich mouthfeel of macerated raspberries. When I give the wine a chew, the mid-palate is warm blackberry pie and baking spice 🥧🍷🥧🍷 The ending closes bright and deep with grippy tannins, black cherries, and a coriander note that hangs on……………
This wine is a STUNNER! It needs some time in the cellar or the decanter but once it opens up, HOLY HELL is it delicious… There’s some gaminess, some spiciness, some fruitiness, and oh yea —> there’s that whole PIE THING….
