In the glass, this Zinfandel out of Sonoma has a really beautiful dark-purple middle with eclectic garnet edges… π·π·π·
The nose is straight up anise, cranberries, and black pepper… It’s bright, spicy, and balanced as hell!
My first taste has a cherry jam start that tightens into some black pepper and salinity. When I get to the mid-palate I find myself chomping on a fistful of brown sugar coated cranberries ———-> the middle is candied and bright… By the time I get to the ending I’m hit with a kick of spice and a savory gamey note that hangs onnnnnn for a while………….
Folks, this is my kinda Zin… While there IS a touch of jam in the flavor profile, I certainly would NOT describe this wine as “jammy”…. This lil guy is savory, spicy, and even a lil candied and it BEGS for a smoked pork butt!!! π·π΄π·π΄π·π΄π· GO GETCHA SOME Y’ALL!!!
