In the glass – this Monterey Grenache, Syrah, Petite Sirah blend has a dark garnet core with pinkish-purple edges and a THIN translucent halo….
The nose on this guy is a sucker punch of blueberry jam, blackberries, and sweet oak…. Another sniff adds a lil bit heat to the picture which I kinda like….
My first sip starts with more of the blueberries that I got on the nose with a black cherry note and SMOOTH tannins ———-> A chew and a swish bring out a meaty / mushroomy mid-palate that eventually leads into a looooooooong and spicy black pepper finish that tightens the flavor profile up a bit as it brings everything together….
If y’all are looking a DYNAMITE Rhône style red that has GREAT structure but doesn’t kill the palate or the wallet then look no further than THIS bad boy from Big Sur Vineyards!!!!
