In the glass – this Grenache, Syrah, Carignan blend out of Roussillon has a black center with purple edges and an electric halo….
The nose on this guy screams raspberry pie with a touch of floral perfume and some subtle cow-pasture funk…
When the wine lands on my tongue there’s an acidic bing-cherry start that finds its way into something a bit more vegetal with some bell pepper peeking through…. The mid-palate is grippy with burnt-oak, blackberries, and bicycle tire ———-> By the time I get to the finish, there is a scoop of powdered dark chocolate mingling with a plummy note and a tannic structure that hangs onnnnnnn for a while….
This is a pretty fun wine y’all…. While it’s certainly not overly-serious, it DOES have some backbone and enough complexity to keep you engaged…. For around $15 bucks, it’s a buy, yo!
