In the glass, this WA Merlot from the Red Mountain AVA has a black center with dark-purple edges and a super thin translucent halo….
The nose is LOADED with bright red raspberries, spicy anise, and a lil dusty basement floor funk….
A taste has a black cherry start that quickly turns bright with a coriander and blackberry mid-palate ———-> The 7th inning stretch adds a bit of grippyness to the ballgame with layered, velvety tannins and blue fruit before a red currant ending that hangs on with those sticky tannins for a whiiiiiiile….
Well folks, y’all have heard me go all fan boy on the Red Mountain AVA of WA for a while now and THIS wine is a perfect example of why!!!!! This Merlot from Warr-King Wines is absurd…. It’s big and bold yet structured and layered ——–> On top of all that, this guy should age pretty well also so for around $35 bucks, there is NO reason you don’t have at least 6 of these in your cellar!!!!
