In the glass, this Santa Barbara Syrah has a voluptuous plum core with electric purple edges and a pink halo….
The nose is full of dark fruit and wild-game with blackberries and greasy dark chicken ———-> Another sniff brings a bit of herbaceous spice to the party….
A taste has a bing cherry start that melds into puréed blueberries and cola…. The mid-palate catches my attention with grippy tannins that lead into more of the greasy gamey notes that I got on the nose before an ending of red raspberries with a white pepper kick that haaaaaaangs on until my next sip….
Here’s another one from our good friend, Edgar Torres ———> While most of his Hug Cellars wines have taken on more of a Pinot focus, this lonely Syrah under the label is RIDICULOUS…. Pair this guy with anything that you pull off the grill!!!
