In the glass this Santa Barbara Cab out of the Happy Canyon AVA has a black center with dark purple edges and an electric halo….
The nose is STRAIGHT UP pine shaving paradise before deepening into a bit of wet oak with a raspberry kick….
A sip has a black cherry start that does a trust-fall into a wild flower field ———–> The mid-palate takes a QUICK detour into a land of cranberry tartness before it shows a kind of blueberry and blackberry purée thing that I’m diggin’! When I hit the end of this wine my mouth is coated with fine tannins that make way to a looooong cigar box and plum finish….
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again ——-> I LOVE Happy Canyon Cabs!!!!!! Here’s one by Westerly Wines that’s shooting LIGHTS OUT!!! While the wood on the nose has me drooling, the layers of floral goodness and black & blue fruit on the palate are KILLER….
