In the glass, this unoaked Chardonnay from Monterey has a pale yellow core that’s so light I could read a book through it ————–> The edges are pure gold and wrapped by a thin translucent halo….
A sniff is bright and vibrant with green apples and lemon juice with a touch of banana hidden in the background….
The palate starts zesty with lemon peel that carries into some minerality and dusty slate-rock…. A chew and a swish open this thing up into a mid-palate full of fresh peaches with more of the banana I got on the nose ——–> The wine finishes BRIGHT with zesty lime juice and a long green apple tart ending….
If you’re a glutton for an overly oaked, bastardized bottle of Chard; keep on walkin’…. That said ——–> If you’re into a pure, minimalistic approach to the grape then this lil guy from Wrath Wines is your jam!!! This wine is fresh and zippy and FULL of character…. π§π§π§ listen to this wine with something vivacious like Blind Melon – Tones of Home
