In the glass this Sonoma Grenache is DARK as all get out ———-> This thing’s got a HUGE black olive center with garnet edges and a thin translucent halo….
A sniff is a face-full of blueberries, rose petal, and pomegranite…. When I dive in for a revisit I’m hit with some sweet oak and I’m DROOLING….
The palate has a black fruit start leading the charge toward more of the blueberries I got on the nose before a balancing act of wet cedar and burley pipe tobacco teeter-totter on the mid-palate ———–> The ending is GRIPPY with edgy tannins that show a looooooooong black cherry and spicy currant finish….
Soooooo…. Here’s a Grenache made in the Rhône style using Cali fruit and DAMN is it delicious ———> This one from CR Graybehl who’s better known as The Grenachista is HUGE on the palate with blue & black fruit, cedar wood, and grippy tannins…. 🎧🎧🎧 Listen to this wine with something that’ll give you an earful like Rage Against the Machine – Killing in the Name
