In the glass, this Mendocino Pinot has a dark garnet core surrounded by electric purple edges that’re wrapped by a pink lipstick halo….
The nose is seductive and nothing short of mouthwatering with raspberry jam and blueberry purée ———-> Another sniff adds a floral and wet grass thing that’s got me DROOOOOOLING….
A sip starts bright with cranberry sauce and bing cherries before some blackberry tart stumbles into the party…. The mid-palate shows sugar coated raspberries and more of the blueberry purée I got on the nose before this lil guy finishes with soft tannins that piggy back a mid-length raspberry and forrest floor funk ending….
So the more I dig into the wines coming out of Mendocino the more I’m BLOWN AWAY!!! Here’s a phenomenal little Pinot from Lula Cellars that shows some bright acidity that’s perfectly balanced by puréed fruit….. 🎧🎧🎧 listen to this wine with something bright balanced by depth like Milky Chance – Stolen Dance
