In the glass this Syrah/Grenache/Tempranillo blend out of Monterey has a HUGE black center with bright purple edges and a dark ruby halo….
A sniff is met with musty basement floor funk that opens up into black cherries and red raspberries…. A revisit shows a sort of floral thing that I’m diggin’
The palate starts dark with blackberries and more of the black cherries I got on the nose ———–> A chew and a swish finds a mid-palate that takes a walk on the brighter side with cranberries and bing cherries before soft tannins show up to carry home a looooooong raspberry black tea and licorice ending….
Here’s a value oriented red from Morgan Winery that drinks WELL ABOVE its price point ————-> This thing is just plain fun and at right around $15 bucks, you can’t afford NOT to get your hands on a bottle (or 6)…. π§π§π§ Listen to this wine with something twangy like Margo Price – Hurtin (on the bottle)
