In the glass, this Santa Clara Grenache has a black olive center with pink-purple edges surrounded by a paper thin, translucent halo….
At 6 years old the nose on this guy is SCREAMING with notes of puréed raspberries and boysenberries ———-> Another sniff shows this seducing black cherry muddled into dusty oak thing and it’s time for a sip….
The palate is straight silk on the tongue that highlights more of the puréed raspberries I got on the nose before bing cherries and sugar coated strawberries roll into town ———> The mid-palate brings out some chalky cocoa and cranberry black tea notes before this bad boy finishes looooong and delicious with a salted red licorice POP that just sorta haaaaaaangs….
It’s been a while since I popped the cork on a Carini wine and frankly, I’m not sure what took so long……. This lil Grenache is 6 years old and still shining BRIGHT as hell ————> If you’ve been following along for any amount of time at all you know I’m a fan of Grenache and GOODNIGHT if I don’t LOVE this one!!!!! 🎧🎧🎧 Listen to this wine with something that had you bobbin’ your head 6 years ago like Robin Thicke – Blurred Lines
