In the glass this Lake County Cab has a HUGE black-plum core with inky purple edges surrounded by an electric purple halo….
A sniff is full of black cherries, wet oak, and just a TOUCH of bonfire smoke…. When I stick my nose in for a revisit, I’m hit with this sorta cherry cola thing that I’m gushin’ over….
The palate starts full bodied with KILLER red raspberry and black plum notes that’re quickly swept away by firm tannins carrying a jaw dropping powdered cocoa dipped Maduro cigar wrapper component ——————-> A chew and a swish opens up a mid-palate that POPS with blackberries and more of the cherry cola I got on the nose before this beautiful little number finishes loooooooooong and intriguing with a luscious tannin filled anise(y) blueberry ending….
If you aren’t already jumping head first into Lake County Cabs I don’t know what on earth you’re waiting for —————-> This one from Hawk and Horse Vineyards EASILY rivals most classic expressions of the variety coming out of Napa and kinda serves as a benchmark to the quality coming from the County…. 🎧🎧🎧 Listen to this wine with a fitting classic like Rolling Stones – Wild Horses
