In the glass this Monterey Chardonnay has a yellow goldenrod center that fades slowly into dried straw edges that’re surrounded by a thick translucent halo….
The nose is a face full of Granny Smith apples spread atop of a lemon merengue pie ———-> Another sniff shows a blast of tropical fruit and my mouth is left WATERING….
A sip starts bright with some lemony acid before more of the tropical fruit I got in the nose shows up to highlight pineapple and nectarines galore —————–> A chew and a swish brings out chalky, tongue coating minerality that carries a mid-palate of green apples and lime zest…. This guy ends sweet with a looooooong honey and floral finish that EASILY hangs on for a good 90 seconds….
Here’s a lemony, zesty, tropical(y), chalky, and just plain DELICIOUS little Chard from Big Sur Vineyards ————-> The only pre-requisite for this guy is that it’s enjoyed outside under the sun!!!! π§π§π§ Listen to this wine with something that’s got a chill flow like Dominic Fike – 3 Nights
