In the glass this Yorkville Highlands GSM has a staining black-plum center surrounded by dark garnet edges that’re wrapped by a bricking halo…..
The nose shows an onslaught of earth and spice with dusty black cherries, ripe raspberries, and lavender flowers before a black pepper kick shows up to keep me on my toes…..
A taste shows a medium bodied and bright bing cherry acid start before dusty tannins role into to town to grip both sides of my tongue with dark chocolate covered black cherries ———-> A chew and a swish creates a blackberry and sea salt sprinkled blueberry mid-palate that tightens back up with more tannic grip that carries home a black plum and chalk dust finish and I’m CRAVING another sip!!!!
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again ———> The wines from Halcon Vineyards are as good if not BETTER than ANY cool climate Cali producer out there…. That said, when you consider the fact that these beautiful wines will only set you back about $35 bucks, they’re a NO BRAINER!!! 🎧🎧🎧 Listen to this wine and celebrate how damned delicious it is with a song like Fitz and the Tantrums – HandClap
