In the glass this El Dorado Syrah/Mourvèd blend has a HUGE ink blot core surrounded by raspberry red edges that’re wrapped by a red brick halo….
The nose is a harmonious relationship between blue and blackberries ———-> Another sniff pulls out a black cherry thing that’s got me dying for a taste!
A sip shows a vivacious start of bing cherries and cranberries before more of the blackberries I got on the nose show up to cat-call boysenberries and ripe strawberries ———–> The mid-palate dances with pomegranate and orange zest before bright tannins take hold to drive a lasting blueberry-tart ending….
This one by The Withers Winery is just plain delicious!!! It’s mostly Syrah with a lil bit of Mourvèdre and is balanced beyond words ———–> It’s drinking great now but I’d suspect will only improve with a bit of time in the cellar….. 🎧🎧🎧 listen to this wine with a great song that only gets better with age like Van Morrison – Moondance
